Certification Testing Overview

The ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute develops implementation specifications and associated certification test kits for the purpose of ensuring interoperability among ISA100 Wireless products.

The institute also conducts interoperability tests to ensure that devices perform to the standard and that the certification tests provide necessary and sufficient coverage.

Certification Benefits

Certification ensures interoperability among devices from any supplier and provides confidence to end users that any device with the ISA100 Compliant logo will work in their systems.  The ISA100 Wireless Compliant logo is an important product differentiator for suppliers’ products and systems.

Products passing the ISA100 Compliant conformance testing are listed on the ISA100 Wireless Registered Products page of this website.  Additionally, WCI will issue notices to members and a formal press release to the general public if approved by the supplier.

ISA100 Standards Continuous Improvement

The ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute maintains a liaison with the ISA100 Standards Committee to communicate feedback from suppliers implementing the standard in their wireless products and end users deploying ISA100 Wireless products at their operational sites.

The ISA100 Wireless Compliance handles all testing.  Device submittals and results are kept confidential, protecting manufacturers' intellectual property and marketplace strategies.

Devices submitted for certification testing will be tested using the following official WCI test kit versions:

  • Stack Test kit - through June 30, 2015 - V 1.15
  • Stack Test kit - As of September 1, 2016 - V 1.16

  • Device Test kit  - June 30, 2015 - V 1.14
