About the ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute (WCI)
Our History
The ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute (WCI) is a non-profit organization incorporated by the International Society of Automation (ISA) in 2006 to provide a home for certification, conformance, and compliance assessment activities in the automation arena. WCI extends the work that ISA has conducted for 50 years in standards development by facilitating the effective marketplace implementation of automation industry standards. ISA provides professional management services to WCI, drawing on an experienced staffing, financial, and administrative infrastructure.


Our Mission
Decrease the time, costs, and risks of developing and deploying standards-based, industrial wireless devices and systems by establishing a collaborative industry-based program among users, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct independent testing and certification of wireless devices and systems for the ISA100 Wireless Systems for Industrial Automation standards
- Provide education, tools, and technical support to users and suppliers in the design, certification, deployment, and management of wireless devices and systems that utilize the ISA100 wireless standard.
- Accelerate adoption of the ISA100 standard by certifying that wireless devices and systems meet a common set of specifications
- Assure interoperability using standards, tests, and conformance processes for wireless devices and systems

Marketing Team

Toshi Hasegawa
AP-Marketing Team Lead | Yokogawa
Toshi has been working for Yokogawa Electric Corporation for 26 years, and he has worked for development of Distributed Control Systems (DCS). His current activity is mainly on standardization and marketing of industrial wireless network. He is a voting member of ISA SP100 Wireless System for Automation. And he is a district leader of the ISA100 Wireless Compliance institute (WCI) Asia Pacific.

Ådne Bear-Olsen
EMEA-Marketing Team Lead | Draeger
Ådne is esponsible for driving wireless adaptation in Africa, Middle East, Asia and Australia. Worked with introducing several new technologies to the Oil & Gas marked. Supplied and delivered the first fully integrated wireless gas detection system in the world. Offshore Norway. Worked my way from Sales manager, to sales director and finally Division director for detection in Origo Solutions AS. Then I was recruited to Global sales director for Consilium Oil & Gas responsible for establishing Consilium as a Global supplier of SIL2 detection system in the Oil & Gas marked. Now I am back to Draeger GasSecure to drive the fire & gas detection solution business development.

Mark DeAngelo
Program Manager
Dr. Mark P. DeAngelo is the Program Manager of the ISA Security Compliance Institute and the ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute, commonly referred to as ISASecure and ISA100 Wireless. He provides staff leadership for ISA’s conformance certification programs, including the ISASecure control systems certification program managed under the ISA Security Compliance Institute.
Previously, Dr. DeAngelo worked as a systems safety engineer working on autonomous systems and commercial derivative aircraft at Boeing Defense, Space & Security. Before joining Boeing, he worked as the Aerospace Initiatives Manager for SAE International, where he served as SAE’s spokesperson for advanced air mobility standards and integration activities, collaborating with SAE, NASA, FAA, ICAO, international civil aviation authorities and industry.
He earned a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from Penn State University. He also holds an FAA Part 61 Private Pilot Certificate. His hobbies include photography with publications in the Smithsonian Air & Space Magazine, Miami New Times, and awards from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Point Park University.

Fieldcomm Group (FCG)
FieldComm Group is the combined industry group comprised of two organizations previously known as Fieldbus Foundation and Hart Communication Foundation. WCI collaborates with FCG in technical development of products and specifications for field device management and interfaces to host systems as well as market outreach at industry events. Starting in 2016, WCI collaborated with FCG to develop extensions to the Field Device Integration (FDI) platform to support ISA100 Wireless devices, broadening support for a common platform for field device descriptions and field device management.
FDT Group
The FDT group standardizes the communication and configuration interface between all field devices and host systems. FDT created an annex for the ISA100 Wireless standard.
International Society of Automation
Founded over 75 years ago, ISA is a leading, global, nonprofit organization that develops standards, certifies industry professionals, provides education and training, publishes books and technical articles, and hosts conferences and exhibitions for automation professionals. Leveraging its experienced staffing, financial, and administrative infrastructure, ISA provides professional management services to WCI.
ISA100 Wireless Systems for Automation Standards Committee
The Committee is comprised of over 400 automation professionals and 250 companies from around the world and built the ISA100 Wireless standard using its open standards process.

WINA is an organization of industry leaders who work together to educate end users about wireless technology, applicable standards, and the benefits of using industrial wireless solutions.
ISA Security Compliance Institute (ISCI)
ISCI’s mission is to cultivate, strengthen, and assure cyber security in industrial automation control systems and critical infrastructure. ISCI realizes its goals by managing industry standards compliance programs and operating complimentary technical support and education services. And through committees and communities of practice, ISCI improves suppliers’ development processes and users’ life cycle management practices.
